  • Ish Fabicon @silvestre, Romblomanon is a beautiful language :-) i love listening to Polit Berano's "L (R)etrato Nga Luma" lyrics and ...its music arranged by 1622-Unang Usbor band. "Malakat Ka Na Gali," is a classic Romblomanon pine and wail of being alone; add, "Lumalabay Nga Daw Aso" and that makes one lilt and dance :-)

  • Dina Matoto @Ish, we agree romblomanon is a beautiful language...and we respect your preference for another writer's choice or proficiency in its use in writing lyrics... as you will notice however, the lyrics of the above song are about the true meaning of christmas...which is "That God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life..." the songs you mention in your comments are songs about other subjects and are intended maybe for visayan audiences... and they are nice songs indeed...

  • Bomboy @Ish, you are perfectly correct... and i am sad that i cannot write songs with romblomanon lyrics... that is why when Mr. Berano invited me to join his book project about poems, songs, and other literary pieces, with my engilish songs about romblon as add-ons, i politely declined... i told him that my songs will just be out of place in a book whose medium is romblomanon....that is also why when romblon high fbook first requested me to write the lyrics for their 2010 gawad alumni award, i also politely declined because i cannot write lyrics in romblomanon... i only agreed when they told me the medium would be tagalog...

  • Lolo Bomboy @Ish, thank you for liking my above comment...Malakat ka na gali was one of my favorite songs when i was still studying at the romblon high...i have even searched the internet for the lyrics but to no avail...i am also planning to publish ...the lyrics of my songs with the possible title of lyrics of songs in english and tagalog written by a romblonmanon...because i really take pride of having been born in romblon, romblon, and very grateful that very many people of romblon, romblon and the entire province supported and patronized the "Madrid Store", which my late parents, Salvador B. Acejas, Sr. and Florentina J. Acejas, operated in the town, inspite of the fact that they were total strangers in the place...

  • Ish Fabicon try archiving www.sanrokan.com - 2002-2003 issues. i remember cadio madrona jr. quite well - he had a collection of English songs too composed by his father and grandpa.

  • Lolo Bomboy @Ish, i noticed that you used the word "Xmas" in a comment above... that is interesting because i was tempted to use that word in the lyrics of my "another song about christmas.".. because have i found out that the reason they have used that word is because of the fact that in a certain language, greek or something, "X" is the beginning of the word "Christ" in that language...and thank you for initiating our very congenial conversation relative to the lyrics of my said song...

  • Lolo Bomboy @Ish, thank you sa info about sanrokan.com.. pinost ko na doon itong lyrics ng another song about christmas... pero baka ma out of place ito doon kasi in english... ang dami palang literary writers natin sa romblon who write in romblomanon including your goodself......what a pity that i cannot write in romblomanon... do you think ok lang yong pag post doon ng lyrics nitong song na ito....

  • Lolo Bomboy @Liba thank you for your kind approval of my above comment...di ba it's really a pity that i cannot write anything in romblomanon and so i can not be part of the group of romblomanons who write poems, songs and other literary pieces in romblomanon...merry christmas and a happy new year to you...

regards,
bomboy
