"Romblon, Ikaw lang ang mahal ko..."

ngayong malapit na muling sumapit ang pasko

by Lolo Bomboy on 17 October 2010 Sunday at 01:47

Subject: my diary...lyrics-songbook

dear diary,

title: " romblon, ikaw lang ang mahal ko"
(ngayong malapit na muling sumapit ang pasko)
lyrics/melody by lolo bomboy
written: october 17,2010

I

ikaw lang ang mahal ko
mamahalin ng buong puso ko
saan man ako mapunta
lagi kitang taglay sa aking ala-ala

chorus:

"a golden jubilee song for RHS Class 58, June 2010, lyrics/melody by lolo bomboy

a golden jubilee song for romblon high school class 58,june 2010, (still another song about my hometown of romblon),june 2010, lyrics/melody by lolo bomboy

intro:

after writing three songs about my hometown
in the province of romblon
i must think of other things that i could say
and write down in still another song
but since i have been away from the place
for such a very long, long time
i can only make my observations based on
pictures and things that i see online....

I
i have heard from a friend
that in january of two thousand eight,
some of our classmates held
a well-planned re-union
in doctor fonte's place
it was the golden jubilee of the
romblon high school class
of 1958
it must have been a lot of fun
for all who attended it

refrain:
romblon high school is the name
we called our alma mater then
but they've changed it to romblon national high
school since way back when
i think the change in the name of our high
school can mean a lot of things
that can bring about an improvement in the
already high standard of instruction there

romblon high school i think is one of
the best high schools in the world
for one, its idyllic location defies description
in every sense of the word
alumni who've passed through its portals
have made a name for themselves
in the fields of endeavor they've chosen
or other causes they've decided to serve

chorus:
we are proud to belong
to the romblon high school class
of nineteen fifty eight
and we say a solemn prayer
for teachers and classmates
whose company we now surely miss
though they are gone from our midst
they are now in a much better place
and we pause to remember
moments that we shared
during our romblon high school days

we are proud to belong
to the romblon high school class
of nineteen fifty eight
we're also proud to be part of a school
whose history is full of success
most of us now enjoy
the fruits of our
full retirement years
ever grateful for the lessons
that we learned
from our romblon high school
teachers of yesteryears

refrain:
romblon high school is the name
we called our alma mater then
but they've changed it to romblon national high
school since way back when
i think the change in the name of our high
school can mean a lot of things
that can bring about an improvement in the
already high standard of instruction there

romblon high school i think is one of
the best high schools in the world
for one, its idyllic location defies description
in every sense of the word
alumni who've passed through its portals
have made a name for themselves
in the fields of endeavor they've chosen
or other causes they've decided to serve...

Silvestre Acejas because of the comment of Maria Crislil Nina Costo, wishing that her father were able to attend the rhs class 58 reunion, i have made a revision of the above song "still another song about my hometown of romblon" to pay tribute to our rhs cl...ass 58 classmates who are now no longer with us....with the additon of a stanza in the chorus that says: we are proud to belong to the romblon high school class of nineteen fifty eight, yet we humbly say a prayer in memory of classmates whose company we now will surely miss, though they are gone from our midst we know that they have gone to a much better place, and we pause to remember all the pleasant times they shared with us during our romblon high school days.... i've now posted the revised version in my notes here in facebook...Ver más

"Romblon is a town really worth living in.", end of May 2010, lyrics/melody by lolo bomboy

romblon is a town really worth living in, end of may2010, lyrics/melody by silvestre j. acejas (original title:another song about my hometown of romblon, end of may 2010),lyrics/melody by silvestre j. acejasCompartir. Miércoles, 26 de Mayo de 2010 a las 11:56 a.m.)
Lyrics:
I

I don’t know if I can write
another Song about my hometown ,
i don’t know If I can but I will surely try,
could there be something else I still haven’t said,
to show how beautiful my
hometown of romblon really is….

chorus:

romblon is such a beautiful place in which to stay
no wonder I have many friends who live there to this very day
over there, through the years, they have raised their closely knit families
who will have a classic view of romblon forever etched in their memories...
I am sure I don’t have the words to properly describe
how much more beautiful the town of romblon has grown before their very eyes
But from the pictures that I have seen from some of my friends
I can tell that romblon is a town we can all be proud of until the very end
and i can tell that romblon is a town more beautiful now than it has ever been
and i can tell that romblon is a town really, really worth living in

II

maybe i could write about a beach property somewhere in logbon
Where it would be very nice to take a dip especially before high noon
And where at night my friends and i could take a stroll along the shore
to see if from afar the harbor lights of romblon are shining much brighter
than ever before...

III

maybe i could write about someone from our high school class
Who has built a mansion up a valley where the greenery is full and lush
Oh how I wish that we could get an invitation to go visit there soon
So we could talk all day long about our happy high school days in romblon

chorus:

romblon is such a beautiful place in which to stay
no wonder I have many friends who live there to this very day
over there, through the years, they have raised their closely knit families
who will have a classic view of romblon forever etched in their memories...
I am sure I don’t have the words to properly describe
how much more beautiful the town of romblon has grown before their very eyes
But from the pictures that I have seen from some of my friends
I can tell that romblon is a town we can all be proud of until the very end
and i can tell that romblon is a town more beautiful now than it has ever been
and i can tell that romblon is a town really, really worth living in

refrain:

I don’t know if I can write another
Song about my hometown
i don’t know If I can but I will surely try
could there be something else I still haven’t said
to show how beautiful my
hometown of romblon really is….

could there be something else i still haven't said
to show how beautiful my
hometown of romblon really is..

"The Marble Isles", may 2010, lyrics/melody by lolo Bomboy

"the marble isles", (may 2010),lyrics/melody by lolo bomboy
Compartir Viernes, 21 de Mayo de 2010 a las 06:58 p.m.

I
i would like to go and see the place they call the "marble isles"
the folks back there i am sure would welcome me with a thousand smile
i got some friends still living there whom i've not seen for quite a while
i would like to share their company once more in the traditional romblon style

i would like to go there in the very early part of january,
cause by then the feast of our dear Sto Nino will just be underway,
i would like to watch the fluvial parade which should be a real sight to see,
with multi-colored bancas sailing round and round the famous romblon bay....

chorus:

it's right there in the heart of the philippine archipelago
that is where we'll find the marbles isles where i really ought to go
there are lots of places there to see and visit them is what i will do
and this time i'd surely be at the lighthouse station in agpanabat too

logbon, alad and nagoso are all part of the marble isles
and so are tablas and sibuyan where i should be passing by
sibale, banton, and simara are places i still have to see
and there's a town in carabao island i also hope to see someday

II

i would like to swim in the crystal clear waters of the marble isles
and since you can see them all around they're sure to catch my eyes
pure white sand on beaches that seem to stretch for miles and miles
where people still enjoy their sunbath under a beautiful blue romblon sky

i would like to climb once again the steps up to fort San Andres,
where we used to play hide and seek when we were still just kids,
where all along the way up there we would find some atis trees
and the fruits of those atis trees were very, very sweet indeed

chorus:

it's right there in the heart of the philippine archipelago
that is where we'll find the marbles isles where i really ought to go
there are lots of places there to see and visit them is what i will do
and this time i'd surely be at the lighthouse station in agpanabat too

logbon, alad and nagoso are all part of the marble isles
and so are tablas and sibuyan where i should be passing by
sibale, banton, and simara are places i still have to see
and there's a town in carabao island i also hope to see someday

III

i would like to walk up old rizal street to the romblon high
where it sits beneath the hills around where it's really very nice
at the back of the admi building was a spot that was full of trees
and it's a place that holds for me a lot of pleasant memories

i would like to sit on the steps of the school's marble grandstand
where we used to stay to sing love songs for everyone around
and it would be nice once again to see by a look from up there
if there are boats from afar that are coming in to dock at the pier

bridge:

i would like to go up the bell tower of St Joseph's cathedral
and recall ghost stories told me there by joe my jolly old pal
(when we were there the time just didn't seem to go on and on)
when we were there the time hardly seemed to move along
and from the top we would catch a glimpse of the town of romblon

chorus:

it's right there in the heart of the philippine archipelago
that is where we'll find the marbles isles where i really ought to go
there are lots of places there to see and visit them is what i will do
and this time i'd surely be at the lighthouse station in agpanabat too

logbon, alad and nagoso are all part of the marble isles
and so are tablas and sibuyan where i should be passing by
sibale, banton, and simara are places i still have to see
and there's a town in carabao island i also hope to see someday

it's right there in the heart of the philippine archipelago
that is where we will find the marble isles where i really ought to go.

o bitayan o guerra o masakit nga pagka martir,o kampo abierto

7.pabay-i nga iwagan ako ng bulan sang iya suave kag mahipos nga sinag,

pabay-i ina nga bungkagon para isa ka adlaw matamnan

makadto ako didto diin tanan hay malaya, waya amo nga ginaluhuran

romblon is the town where i was born
romblon is the town where i ha...d grown
romblon is the town where my dreams were hewn
and it's the place where all my plans in life were formed

romblon is the town where my heart belongs
romblon is the town that i've missed for so long
(romblon is the town that i call my own)
romblon is the town where my friendships bloomed
where my weary, lonely soul always finds a home

wherever in the world
i may happen to roam
there can be no other place
that i can call my home
there can be no other place
but you my dear romblon
a place to where i hope
someday i could return

you are the place that
i shall always call my home
sweet home
my home sweet home
is romblon, romblon

romblon is the town where marble grows
romblon is a town where there's copra too
romblon is a town where the pearls are also true
and the sands along the shores are as white as snow

romblon is a town where storms are few
where the sea and the sky seem to be always blue
romblon is a town that is full of scenic view
all these things and more truly make us love her so

wherever in the world
i may happen to roam
there can be no other place
that i can call my home
there can be no other place
but you my dear romblon
a place to where i hope
someday i could return

you are the place that
i shall always call my home
sweet home
my home sweet home
is romblon, romblon

with all your palm trees and beaches
and mountains beckoning to us
romblon you are mother nature coddling us

and the boat rides we had
on moonlit romblon bay
oh how i miss them now
with every passing day
the hikes we took once in a while
in your mountain trails
those i guess were not for some who
didn't want to dare

and the winding roads along the foot
of your many hills,
few other sights here on earth can keep
me breathless still
and the marble hearts we carved from stones
and polished to shine
we gave them all away to friends
to remember us by

you are the place where
someday i hope i could stay

you are the place that i
shall always call my home
sweet home

my home sweet home
is romblon, romblon.
